  • Refund Policy
    • If a refund is requested no later than July 31, 2025; we will refund half of your race fee (processing fees not included) or transfer you to our 2026 event.
    • After the cut off date of July 31, we cannot refund or transfer your spot to the 2026 event.
    • Starting August 1, you can sell or give your spot to someone else up through Labor Day Weekend.
  • What if I don’t think I can do an obstacle?

    We have what we call “Longer Way Home” paths that go around some of the more daunting obstacles. The longer way home path will take you longer to complete than the obstacle itself so that is the built-in time penalty for skipping an obstacle. This race is designed for participants of ALL activity levels and abilities.

  • Are there any electric shocks on the course?

    Absolutely not, and no tear gas either!

  • What is the 8:40 wave?

    This wave is designed for the hard core folks that want to go really fast and want to be first on the obstacles. All participants will be timed no matter what your start time. This wave is limited to 75 people instead of 150 There are no prizes other than bragging rights and that’s priceless.  All participants in this wave must be 18 and up.

  • What is the ThunderDash 5K Mud Run?

    It is a 5K trail run with about 25 obstacles that weave through a farm, some woods and an active rock quarry. The obstacles are a combination of man-made structures and nature made obstacles that have been fortified.

  • What exactly is the 5K Fitness Trail Run?

    Back by popular demand: the 5K trail run around the farm fields. Every half mile participants will perform an exercise like 15 push-ups or maybe 10 Burpees etc. All Fitness runners will receive a finisher medal at the finish along with all the other ThunderDash swag.

  • What is the Ultimate 10K Combination Challenge?

    This combines the Fitness Challenge and the Mud Run. It is recommended that participants complete the Fitness Challenge first. Participants will be directed across the timing matts to get their split time on the fitness challenge and then immediately begin the mud run portion of the course. If a participant wants to run the mud run first; please let our registrations folks know so we can accommodate you. We will ask that you wear your BIB upside down so all our volunteers won’t keep telling you that you are doing the wrong course.

  • So What’s In It For Me?
    • A challenging course set in the beautiful Texas Hill Country
    • A high quality “tech” T-shirt that lets everybody know what you’ve accomplished.

    • A unique ThunderDash race number so there’s no way we could confuse you for your Aunt Edna when you cross the finish line.
    • Hay rides for spectators to go out on the course and watch the action!
    • After leaving it all out on the course; join the post race party and share war stories.
    • We have a 70 foot blow-up obstacle for the future ThunderHeads not quite old enough to participate at the post race party.
    • There will be at least two food trucks with a variety of yummy post race comfort food for purchase.

    *One beer is included for each participant who is of legal age to consume alcohol. Be responsible – do not drink and drive.

    After the race help cheer on everybody else leaving blood, sweat and tears on the course while you bask in the glory of already finishing the race.

  • On The Course

    As if we didn’t have enough water and mud, we’ll have a couple of drink stations with water and sports drink out on the course for anybody who needs a drink.

    Remember: You are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch and non-alcoholic drinks. No outside alcoholic drinks will be allowed on the event grounds. Local law enforcement will be controlling the area.

  • Day Of Race To-Do List
    • Show up on race day with a great attitude and ready to race.
    • Packet pick up on race day will open ONE HOUR before the first wave starts.
    • In your packet you get a unique race number with safety pins (don’t stick yourself!), your timing chip, the t-shirt you signed up for, and some AWESOME extra swag.
  • Must Have
    • A never give up determined attitude
    • $10 CASH for parking
    • Shoes that you can trash, gloves aren’t a bad idea either. You saw the pictures, its going to be muddy!
    • A valid current picture ID to pick up your packet
    • A signed, dated and initialed participant waiver.  No waiver, no race. Insurance requirements demand this. Copies will be available at packet pick up but it sure will speed things up if you bring your own, and ours might be kind of muddy. Download a copy here to speed up the process.
    • Please tell your friends to get their act together and pick up their own stuff. We can not release any materials without a valid ID and signed waiver for each participant.
    • will have a couple of food trucks available!

    We recommend showing up at the course at least one hour prior to your start time. That should give you enough time to park, go to the bathroom, go back to your car because you forgot your ID, attach your number with pins, say “Owww that hurts” when your “friend” sticks you with a safety pin, go to the bathroom again and finally line up for your wave at the start chute

  • Don’t Bring
    • Outside alcoholic drinks.
    • Weapons and/or firearms.  Local law enforcement will take care of that.
    • Absolutely no glass containers are allowed.
  • Gear Check

    Plastic drawstring bags from Kaplan Learning Centers available at the Gear Check tent for racers to check keys, t-shirts, and any of those items you don’t want to carry with you during the race. Drop your gear with our volunteers at the GEAR CHECK tent so you can claim it after the race with your bib number. After leaving some sweat and tears on the course, rinse the rest of it off with some pond water pumped up to our special course viewing shower deck.

  • What Do I Win?

    Results will be posted near the finish line ranking all participants overall and by age group.Throughout race day special recognition of costumes, heroic feats and public silliness on stage.Bragging rights for top 3 overall male, female and age groupers with racer provided picture on our website.Winners of corporate, scholastic, military and first responder divisions will be posted with your provided artwork on our website for bragging rights for one year.

  • Can I Bring Some Friends To Watch?

    Spectators? We love ’em! The more the merrier! Somebody has to take pictures without ruining their phone after all.  We plan to have trailer rides available for spectators to get the best vantage on the course.

  • What Are The Rules and Guidelines?

    The following rules and guidelines are intended to help create a fun and safe event for all participants.

    • Participants must abide by all instructions given from the race director, race staff, volunteers, medical personnel, and anyone representing ThunderDash or FIVE19 Event Productions including anyone older than you (respect your elders).
    • All participants agree to read and sign a 3-page hard copy waiver and bring it to packet pick up with a picture ID.
    • Participants will bring $10 cash per car for parking.
    • Participants understand & acknowledge ThunderDash is an extreme event and accept all risks associated with the event.
    • Participants must be physically able to complete the course and all obstacles.
    • Participants must be 14 years-old or older on race day September 24, 2016 in order to participate.
    • Participants must wear the provided ThunderDash bib number clearly shown on the front. No participant will be allowed to race without an official bib number.  Bib numbers are assigned to specific wave/start times.  Your bib number is your admission ticket to the start corral.
    • Several  amateur videographers and photographers are stationed along the course and we will post the pictures within a week of race day.  Participants agree to allow FIVE19 Event Productions to use any pictures or video footage of the event for future promotional purposes.  We will do our best to get pictures of everyone but cannot guarantee to get you all.
    • Baby joggers, baby strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, skateboards or any other type of wheeled device would really slow you down and are strictly prohibited on the course.   Wheeled devices should be fine in spectator areas and at the post race party.
    • Four legged family members are welcome as long as you keep them on a leash.
    • Urinating or defecating on or anywhere near the course is strictly prohibited.
    • Registration is closed when the 150 maximum capacity is reached per wave.
  • What Safety Considerations Do I Need To Know?
    • ThunderDash is an extreme, physically demanding event and should be approached with a healthy sense of adventure.
    • Licensed EMT’s may examine any participant who appears to be injured or suffering. The medical and ThunderDash personnel may remove any participant from the event if in the opinion of the medical personnel the participant needs to be removed.
    • Participants assume all responsibility for all medical expenses incurred as a result of training and/or participating in ThunderDash, including but not limited to hospitalization, ambulance transportation or physician services.
    • FIVE19 Event Productions reserves the right to cancel or delay the race due to severe weather or in the event of a disaster.

    We highly recommend participants wear running shoes. Participants can wear crazy costumes but are encouraged to make sure the costume will not affect the safety of themselves or others.
